Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS) operates in several locations in Skaraborg, including Falköping, Lidköping, Mariestad, and Skövde. We provide specialized medical care across approximately thirty specialties and work together for the health of our patients throughout their lives, offering cohesive and safe care. Area of Operations 3 is represented by Anesthesia/Surgery, ICU/Postoperative, Sterile Technical Unit, and Administrative Unit within SkaS, with hospital units in Lidköping, Skövde, and Falköping.

Description

In spring 2025, IMA opened in the newly built AS building at SkaS in Skövde. The unit is completely new, making this a unique opportunity to help shape the work from the ground up. Working in a new unit presents both opportunities and development, and you will be an important part of building routines, working methods, and a strong team spirit. This is an exciting phase where your skills and commitment truly make a difference.

Intermediate care is a care place with enhanced capabilities compared to a regular care place, while not offering the most advanced care, which is what intensive care (ICU) provides. By offering care to patients in a middle ground between regular ward care and intensive care, IMA can relieve both the intensive care unit and regular wards.

IMA is a specialist department with 4-6 beds for more severely ill patients requiring increased monitoring, advanced treatment, and nursing care. The department is equipped with advanced medical technology for various conditions. We primarily care for adults and receive patients from all clinics in the hospital.

Responsibilities

As a new employee at IMA, you will receive a thorough introduction to feel secure in your new workplace. Before starting, there will be opportunities for extended training in intensive care to provide good conditions for staff to care for severely ill patients.

As a nurse at IMA, you will work at the top of your competence in more specialized care with extensive monitoring and high technology. You will work in a team alongside nursing assistants and doctors. You will be responsible for fewer patients but with greater care needs compared to a regular ward. IMA operates around the clock, which means shifts during the day, evening, and night.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse with a few years of experience in inpatient care or emergency care. You have good collaboration skills and are open to development, both personally and for the organization. You are accustomed to working in a team.

Your personal qualities are significant, and we are looking for someone who is positive and engaged. You should have good collaboration skills as we work in a team around the patient, as well as the ability to handle stressful situations. We will place great emphasis on previous experience and personal suitability.
